Then I Notice I am Holding my Breath

As I watched this great little video the narrator utters the line, "Then I noticed I am holding my breath." What a great line that describes the intensity of the focus in that moment as you watch your perfectly placed fly drift slowly into the feeding zone of a big fish. It's just you, the river, the fly and the fish. All else is forgotten for that little instant in time. Perfection.

Although the stream this guy is fishing is quite different than the 'home water' we're used to, the thrill of the stalk, getting into position, and then holding one's breath as the fly drifts right into the lane where you just 'know' that he will take it, is the same.

Thanks for sharing this.

For sure. That was a nice brown for that little stream too.

Haven't seen any local photos from you in a long time. You still getting out and doing some fishing on the home river?

Mark,

Yeah I have to appologize. I am getting out occasionally but I had a mishap with my formerly waterproof camera on a vacation in Maui back in June. So I am in the process of deciding which camera to get to replace it. It's been a busy summer so that process has been taken a little longer than it should. Hopefully soon I will be back in business with a camera on these trips.

Hope you have had some good days out there on the river since they dropped the flows for us.
